Yes, it's playable, with results around 60fps on both PC and Mac. As of November 5, 2026, official Eden builds still don't support this Switch 2 exclusive; what runs it are unofficial Eden forks (PokeDinner, Eglantine, Orchid and others, not affiliated with the Eden team) and the native port tool nxnative. On PC, a user reports PokeDinner at a solid 60fps at native resolution on an RTX 2060, and there are reports of about 60fps on an RTX 2050 laptop and on Intel integrated graphics, though with an all-black sky, an all-black Ditto, dark scenes, and no sound on some builds; the author of the Orchid fork reports 60fps on Linux (RX 9070 XT). Recent Eglantine builds have actually regressed: build 188 has a report of audio gradually distorting, textures flicker after build 200, and after build 196 (including v0.1.0-rc1 on November 4) AMD and NVIDIA users report a black screen at 0fps in game, with the reporter calling build 196 the last one that works. On Mac, nxnative (not an emulator: it turns the game into a native app, and it is only officially tested on Mac) added this game on November 3; its game page rates it at about 60fps but only covers the first area. The first shader build used to take a very long time, but since November 4 it can build only the shaders actually used, which takes a few minutes. On iPhone there is only pokopia-native, a third-party tool built on nxnative whose author says it is locked to 30fps by default and gets very hot after a few minutes; there are no independent tests. The Android fork Eden SX2A reports about 20-30fps in its own notes, but its v0.3.2 release on November 2 says it is the final release and no longer maintained.
Settings & known issues
- These forks only take an unpacked game folder (launch the main file inside exefs); if launching base/exefs/main exits with "No file system interface available", launch updates/655360/exefs/main instead (Eglantine #414, fix in PR #431). Takoroka's build notes ask for 16GB RAM and a Vulkan GPU with at least 8GB VRAM.
- After Eglantine build 196 (including v0.1.0-rc1) there are reports of a black screen at 0fps in game (#579, on both AMD and NVIDIA), with the reporter calling build 196 the last one that works; rc1 also has several reports of slower performance overall.
- Eglantine builds 135 and 142 hang when booting this game; fixed from build 158.
- Some builds have no sound (Eglantine issues #236 and #312), and on build 188 audio gradually distorts and drifts out of sync (#515); textures flicker after build 200 (#545); using Cut on big branches crashes the game (#214).
- nxnative's first shader build on Mac used to take a very long time (the game page estimated about 11 hours, and one user measured 30-50 hours, issue #1036); since Nov 4 it can build only the shaders actually used (8,158 of 131,426), which takes a few minutes.
- PokeDinner is a fork tuned for this game (based on Eglantine) with Windows, Linux, and macOS (Apple Silicon) builds; there are no reports for the Mac build yet.
- What runs it are unofficial forks and a native port tool, unrelated to the Eden team; official Eden releases and nightlies don't support it.
