  • Perfect: No noticeable issues start to finish
  • Playable: Can be finished; minor glitches or slowdowns
  • In-game: Gets in-game, but issues get in the way
  • Menus: Reaches the title screen or menus only
  • Boots: Starts, then hangs on a black screen or intro
  • Nothing: Does not start

It's playable on Mac, while on PC only fork authors say it runs well. As of November 5, 2026, the native port tool nxnative (not an emulator: it turns the game into a native app, and it is only officially tested on Mac) supports it since November 4: its game page reports 60fps on an M4 Pro across the title screen, practice, the start of Adventure mode, and Free Play. A user on an M3 Pro also gets 60fps in Free Play, but in Adventure mode the ground and fountain turn pitch black outdoors in the plaza, at 30-45fps. Mario Tennis Fever is a Switch 2 exclusive, and official Eden builds and other Switch 1 emulators don't support it. On PC it relies on unofficial Eden forks (not affiliated with the Eden team): the author of the Orchid fork says it runs flawlessly at 60fps on Linux (RX 9070 XT); on mainline Eglantine, an RX 6600 user reported an easy 60fps on November 2 but no text in menus or in game (fixed in build 194), and another RX 6600 user on build 177 gets a white screen after pressing L+R to start; build 70 of the Lichii fork fixed a GPU device loss when the first court loads. nxnative has no iPhone build, and there are no test results for iPhone/iPad or Android.

Settings & known issues

  • On Mac, nxnative renders the ground and fountain pitch black in Adventure mode's outdoor central plaza (#1246); Free Play runs normally at 60fps.
  • Eglantine build 194 fixed missing text in menus and in game (#351); Lichii build 70 fixed a GPU device loss when the first court loads.
  • What runs it are unofficial forks and a native port tool, unrelated to the Eden team; official Eden releases and nightlies don't support it.
