The single-player content works, but online doesn't: online modes need Nintendo's network service, which emulators don't support. PC is the main platform: Ryubing lists it as Playable and Citron as Perfect, users report about 55-60fps (about 30fps in the hub), and even an old GT 1030 is reported to run it fine. Updates 10.0.0 and later, released with the Switch 2, boot to a black screen on Ryubing, while the community says Citron runs them; AMD GPUs on Vulkan crash when entering story mode (Ryubing issue #426). There's a Mac report of an instant crash, no public iPhone or iPad test reports so far, and on Android Eden v0.2.0 with game version 11.0.1 is reported playable.
Settings & known issues
- Updates 10.0.0+ black-screen on Ryubing; users say Citron runs them. Ryubing's maintainer blames a new SDK.
- If it softlocks on the yellow/purple loading screen, turn off guest internet access (Ryubing docs).
- Without Nintendo's online service you can't upgrade or unlock weapons (Ryubing docs).
- Use Vulkan, not OpenGL (slower, more glitches). The AMD + Vulkan story-mode crash is still unfixed.
- Water surfaces flicker badly on some stages; Ryubing's fix only works on RDNA3 GPUs.
