Yes, the Switch 1 version is playable, and PC is the best option, though random crashes are reported on every platform. Eden and Citron NEO both get in-game on PC, with 4K/60fps gameplay videos (using a 60fps patch or mod; the game runs at 30fps by default), and an Eden user on a ROG Ally X reports a 60fps average. Eden's crashes cluster around the first battle, cutscene loads, and the Grandshelt area, and OpenGL won't get past the loading screen; on an RTX 4080, turning off asynchronous GPU emulation only makes crashes less frequent, and the desert side-quest boss fight still crashes at the start. On Android, Citron NEO runs at about 30fps on a Retroid Pocket 6, Eden is playable at around 30fps on a Galaxy Z Fold 8 once asynchronous GPU emulation is turned off, and one Bilibili creator recorded a full playthrough with Eden on a phone; with async GPU on, battles tend to crash, and characters change color when first entering an area, still unfixed in the latest nightly as of November 2. On Mac, nxnative (a native port) lists the first two battles at 60fps, while a Citron NEO macOS nightly has a report of the 3D scene rendering black or with a heavy pink cast; on iPhone, nxnative has a report of crashing at the first encounter. No reports were found for Ryubing, MeloNX, or Astris as of November 1, 2026. The game came out on October 22, 2026; there are no emulator reports for the Switch 2 version yet.

Settings & known issues

  • Eden on Android crashing in battle: turn off asynchronous GPU emulation; the reporter of issue #753 got it playable that way (some outdoor flicker remains).
  • The best Android reports combine the Mr Purple T30 driver, GPU accuracy set to Accurate, and asynchronous GPU emulation off (issue #753).
  • Eden with OpenGL gets stuck on the loading screen; use Vulkan.
  • The random Vulkan crash on PC (issue #751): PR #4591, merged on October 30, fixes the same code path, and the reporter said on November 4 it should be fixed but hasn't confirmed it on a new nightly yet; another user who read the code thinks #4591 doesn't cover this crash path.
  • The 4K/60fps PC videos use a 60fps patch or mod; the game itself runs at 30fps.
  • If nxnative on iPhone crashes at the first encounter, the maintainer suggests enabling the Increased Memory Limit entitlement for the app.
