The Last of Us Remastered PC port: the PS4 version gets an unofficial native Windows port built on shadPS4
Key points
- tlou-remastered-pc (Nov 1, 2026) runs the PS4's The Last of Us Remastered (CUSA00552, update 1.11) natively on Windows: the game's x86-64 code runs on the PC, graphics use shadPS4's display core.
- Per the README, players have finished it, with one mid-game crash still unfixed. On an i7-8750H + GTX 1050 Ti laptop: 60 fps in light scenes, about 40-44 fps in the heaviest areas.
- Updates came daily: v0.1.2 fixed blood smearing over characters and moved shader compiling to the background; v0.1.3 on Nov 3 fixed rain drawing as solid white lines.
- It is not Sony's official PC release, which is The Last of Us Part I, a separate remake. It reuses a runtime from earlier PS4 ports that traces back to a God of War III port.
- More PS4 games followed: reported Windows builds of Star Ocean 5 and Sakura Wars from the PS4RT runtime family, and a public alpha of ryGT7 for the PS4 version of Gran Turismo 7.
Yes, the PS4 version of The Last of Us Remastered now runs natively on PC, through an unofficial port. tlou-remastered-pc, released on November 1, 2026, runs the PS4 game (CUSA00552 with update 1.11) on Windows: the game's own x86-64 code runs on the PC's CPU, a runtime stands in for the PS4 system libraries, and graphics go through shadPS4's display core on Vulkan. Per the README, players have already finished it. The author reports 40-60 fps on a GTX 1050 Ti laptop. This is not Sony's official PC release, The Last of Us Part I.
What the port does
The project is under GitHub user ravencaio, licensed GPL-2.0. Per its README and release notes:
| Details | |
|---|---|
| Game | PS4 The Last of Us Remastered, CUSA00552 with update 1.11 |
| Status | Still in development; players report finishing it start to finish, with one mid-game crash not yet fixed |
| Performance | i7-8750H + GTX 1050 Ti laptop (4 GB): 60 fps in light scenes, about 40-44 fps in the heaviest areas (bottleneck on the CPU side of rendering); a 30 fps lock is smoother |
| Not done yet | Mouse camera, draw-distance slider, keyboard button prompts |
| Requirements | Windows 10 / 11, Haswell-or-newer Intel or any Ryzen, Vulkan 1.3 GPU, about 6 GB of free RAM |
Performance figures are the author's own test on one machine. The port doesn't include the game; you supply your own files.
Updates so far
| Version | Date | Changes |
|---|---|---|
| v0.1.0 / v0.1.1 | Nov 1 | First releases |
| v0.1.2 | Nov 2 | Fixed blood smearing over characters; shaders now compile in the background |
| v0.1.3 | Nov 3 | Fixed rain drawing as solid white lines |
Where it comes from
The runtime comes from BilalReloaded's PS4 port runtime, which traces back to FelipePrado0's SpartanPort for God of War III; the anti-aliasing camera-motion code comes from SuperMedo's port. It's the same family behind the October wave of PS4 ports; see PS4 exclusives go native on PC. An X post introducing it says it was built with help from Claude. An Android fork, tlou-remastered-android, already exists.
Not the official PC version
Sony's PC release is The Last of Us Part I, a separate PS5-era remake. This project runs the 2014 PS4 Remastered itself.
More PS4 games on PC: PS4RT and ryGT7
- PS4RT: HekamiAeon's series of game-specific Linux compatibility runtimes (October repositories for Star Ocean 5, Sakura Wars, Valkyria Revolution and others). On November 2, Windows versions were reported: Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness by Hoverbike51 (1080p / 1440p / 4K, experimental FSR 3.1 and FSR 4, a launcher) and Sakura Wars (2019) by DiamondDogz (4K, FSR, experimental 60 fps). These come from posts and secondary coverage.
- ryGT7: a public alpha (Nov 2) that runs the PS4 version of Gran Turismo 7 on Windows. Per GameGPU, the developer claims a 30 fps mode, experimental 60 fps, DLSS, FSR and frame generation, wheel force feedback and community-server online play, with 35-48 fps on demanding tracks. The test hardware wasn't disclosed.
As of November 3, 2026, GitHub's public DMCA archive has no Sony notice against these ports; the November folder did not exist yet, and GitHub publishes with a delay. Sony has said nothing publicly.
What this means for players
If you own the PS4 version of The Last of Us Remastered, you can now play it on a modest Windows PC without emulation, and it is already finishable, though mouse aiming isn't in yet and one crash remains. If you'd rather use an emulator, shadPS4 also runs it in-game; see the TLOU Remastered compatibility page, the shadPS4 page, the Windows setup guide and hardware requirements. FAQ
Is there a PC port of The Last of Us Remastered?
Not an official one for the PS4 version. Since November 1, 2026, an unofficial project, tlou-remastered-pc, runs the PS4's The Last of Us Remastered natively on Windows from your own game files. Sony's official PC release is The Last of Us Part I, a separate remake.
How well does the TLOU Remastered PC port run?
Per the author's own testing on one machine, an i7-8750H laptop with a 4 GB GTX 1050 Ti runs light scenes at 60 fps and the heaviest areas at about 40-44 fps, limited by the CPU side of rendering. Locking to 30 fps is smoother. Players report finishing the game, with one mid-game crash not yet fixed.
What do I need for tlou-remastered-pc?
Per the README: the PS4 version CUSA00552 with update 1.11, Windows 10 or 11, a Haswell-or-newer Intel CPU or any Ryzen, a Vulkan 1.3 GPU and about 6 GB of free RAM. Mouse camera control, a draw-distance slider and keyboard button prompts aren't done yet.
Is tlou-remastered-pc an emulator?
No. The PS4 and PC both use x86-64 CPUs, so the game's own code runs directly on the PC, while a runtime supplies the PS4 system libraries. Only the graphics are translated, through shadPS4's display core on Vulkan. shadPS4 itself is an emulator that can run many games.
Which other PS4 games got native PC ports in early November?
Reported Windows builds of Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness and Sakura Wars (2019) based on the PS4RT runtime family, and ryGT7, a public alpha that runs the PS4 version of Gran Turismo 7 on Windows. These come from posts and secondary reports, not independent tests.
