Key points

  • Bloodborne-Android is an Android port of Bloodborne by developer ducvd89. The README says it's 'a port of Bloodborne, not an emulator.' It's based on bbport, the native PC port.
  • Releases have landed almost daily since 2026-10-13; the latest is 2.2.0 Beta (2026-10-29). Since 2.0, the game's x86 code is translated to native ARM ahead of time.
  • Only Snapdragon Adreno 6xx/7xx/8xx GPUs are supported; Mali GPUs (e.g. MediaTek Dimensity) aren't. Needs Android 9+. Test devices: AYN Thor and Oppo Find N5.
  • The native code has to be built from your own copy of the game: about 6 minutes on the phone (the CPU hits about 95 °C), or on a PC with the developer's free tool.
  • Features include Snapdragon GSR 2 upscaling, frame generation, an on-screen controller, button remapping, mods, online play and a live map on a second screen.

Bloodborne-Android is an unofficial Android port of Bloodborne by developer ducvd89, who is explicit that it's "a port, not an emulator." It's based on bbport, the native PC port, and since version 2.0 it translates the game's x86-64 code to native ARM ahead of time, so the app no longer contains an x86 emulator. As of November 2026, the latest version is 2.2.0 Beta (2026-10-29). It only supports Snapdragon phones and Android handhelds with Adreno 6xx/7xx/8xx GPUs on Android 9 or later. Phones with Mali GPUs, such as MediaTek Dimensity models, aren't supported.

How it works

  • It starts from bbport. On PC, bbport runs Bloodborne's x86-64 code directly and swaps the PS4 system libraries for a small Bloodborne-only runtime. Phones use ARM CPUs and can't run x86 code directly, so Bloodborne-Android adds a translation step.
  • Early versions translated the x86 code to ARM on the fly with FEXCore.
  • Since 2.0 (2026-10-24), the whole game's code is translated to ARM64 once, ahead of time, into libbbaot.so, so there's no translation overhead while you play.
  • Graphics use a shadPS4-derived renderer through Vulkan. The app bundles the Turnip driver for Adreno and picks it automatically.

Supported devices and requirements

ItemRequirement
OSAndroid 9 or later, arm64 only
GPUQualcomm Snapdragon Adreno 6xx / 7xx / 8xx
Not supportedMali GPUs (MediaTek Dimensity and others); the bundled PanVK driver is for testing only. Other non-Adreno GPUs aren't on the supported list either
Developer's test devicesAYN Thor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 / Adreno 740), Oppo Find N5 (Snapdragon 8 Elite / Adreno 830), both with 16 GB of RAM
Other Adreno devicesUntested

The developer hasn't published a per-device frame rate table. The README only notes that the 2.1.0 native code and on-phone build were measured on the AYN Thor and other phones may be slower. On ColorOS and OxygenOS (Oppo, OnePlus), a "Security warning" may appear at launch; tap "Got it."

Building the native code

This is the key step since 2.0. libbbaot.so is translated from Bloodborne's own program, so it belongs to the game's copyright holders. The README says it can't be downloaded or shared and has to be built from your own game files:

MethodTime and requirements
On the phone (default since 2.1)About 6 minutes on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2; the big cores run flat out and the CPU reaches about 95 °C, so take the case off and plug in; needs about 4 GB of free RAM and 1 GB of storage
On a PCThe developer's free Rebuild Tool for Windows, Linux and Apple silicon Macs; Windows and Linux need an AVX2 CPU, 8 GB of free RAM and about 3 GB of disk

When an app update changes the ABI version (2.1.0 did), you rebuild once. Moving to a new phone with the same ABI version just means copying the aot folder. The developer also warns: the Rebuild Tool is free, and if you paid for it, you were scammed.

Game version

Only version 1.09 is supported. The developer tests with the EU Game of the Year release (CUSA03173); other 1.09 releases should work but are untested. Use the original 1.09 eboot.bin, since pre-patched 60 fps versions crash when the gestures menu opens. The app can import the base game package and the 1.09 update package directly, or point at an already-extracted game folder.

Features

  • Snapdragon GSR 2 upscaling (default since 0.11.0): Qualcomm's upscaler for Adreno, about 1.1 ms per frame on the Thor. FSR 3.1 is also available.
  • Bloodframe frame generation: Lossless Scaling frame generation (2x to 4x), using your own Lossless.dll; it pauses during movies.
  • Any aspect ratio and resolution: 4:3 to 32:9, output from 360p up to your screen's native resolution.
  • Real game speed: the game keeps real-time speed down to 20 fps instead of slowing down below 30.
  • Controls: on-screen controller, physical controllers, button remapping and vibration.
  • Mods and cheats: .zip / .7z / .pkg mods, plus cheats for infinite health and items.
  • Online play (since 1.2.0): co-op, PvP, notes and bloodstains through the Seamless Hunt or The Hunter's Dream community servers; cheats and pause are off while online.
  • Hunter's Atlas live map (since 1.1.0): your position, lamps, items and NPCs on the AYN Thor's second screen, an external display, or a floating mini map. Since 1.2.0 you can tap a target to get a route.
  • Unified memory (since 1.0.0): vertex and index data is shared between the game and the GPU, using about 8% less RAM.

Who it's for

  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or newer phones and Android handhelds like the AYN Thor: the best way to play Bloodborne on a phone right now.
  • MediaTek and other non-Snapdragon phones: not supported yet.
  • iPhone users: no usable version; the iOS Bloodborne projects are proofs of concept.

FAQ

Can you play Bloodborne on Android?

On some Snapdragon phones and Android handhelds, yes. Bloodborne-Android is an unofficial port; as of November 2026 the latest is 2.2.0 Beta. It needs Android 9+ and an Adreno 6xx/7xx/8xx GPU, and the developer tests on the AYN Thor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) and Oppo Find N5 (Snapdragon 8 Elite). Phones with Mali GPUs, such as MediaTek Dimensity models, aren't supported, and there's no usable iPhone version.

Is Bloodborne-Android an emulator?

No. The first line of the README calls it 'a port of Bloodborne, not an emulator.' It's based on bbport: since 2.0, Bloodborne's x86-64 code is translated to native ARM64 ahead of time, a small Bloodborne-only runtime handles system functions, and graphics go through Vulkan. Earlier versions translated the x86 code on the fly with FEXCore.

Does Bloodborne-Android support MediaTek or Mali phones?

No. As of November 2026 only Snapdragon's Adreno GPUs are supported. The app bundles the PanVK driver for Mali GPUs, but the developer says it's for testing only, doesn't run the game yet, and asks people not to report Mali bugs.

What is the 'native code,' and why do I have to build it?

Since 2.0, the app has no x86 emulator; the game runs from a file called libbbaot.so, which is ARM code translated from Bloodborne's own program. It belongs to the game's copyright holders, so it can't be distributed; you build it from your own game files. Since 2.1 the app can build it on the phone (about 6 minutes on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, plugged in, with about 4 GB of free RAM), or you can build it on a PC with the developer's free Rebuild Tool and copy it over.

Which version of Bloodborne does it need?

Version 1.09. The developer tests with the EU Game of the Year release (CUSA03173); other 1.09 releases should work but are untested. Use the original 1.09 eboot.bin, because pre-patched 60 fps executables crash in the gestures menu. The app can import the game package and 1.09 update directly, or use an already-extracted game folder.

Can you play Bloodborne online on Android?

Yes. Since 1.2.0, online play works through community servers: Seamless Hunt (account from seamlesshunt.com) or The Hunter's Dream (Discord sign-in). Co-op, PvP, notes and bloodstains work, and seamless co-op is an experimental option. Cheats and pause are disabled while online.

Bloodborne-Android vs Bachata S4: what's the difference?

Bachata S4 is an unofficial Android build of shadPS4, a general PS4 emulator that translates x86 code on the fly with FEX; Bloodborne averaged about 21 fps on a Snapdragon 8 Elite in its tests. Bloodborne-Android only does Bloodborne, translates the code to native ARM ahead of time, and adds lots of game-specific optimizations and features. If Bloodborne is all you want, pick Bloodborne-Android.
